About SitePen

SitePen is a consulting firm specializing in building amazing web applications, providing Dojo workshops and Dojo support services. Why so much Dojo? Our CEO co-founded the Dojo Toolkit and many of our team members are active contributors to the project. We live and breathe javascript and front end development but we are in desperate need of help on the visual design front.

What we're looking for:

A visual designer with solid skills in graphic design and an excellent eye for typography, clean layout, purposeful color, and refined style. You must have a deep appreciation for simple, sleek, usable web sites and interfaces. Therefore, you must think strategically while executing with great attention to detail. You must have the ability to successfully collaborate with other designers, project managers, and engineers to develop innovative, user-friendly products designed to enhance our clients’ abilities to succeed. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a solid understanding of user-centered design principles, excellent visual design skills, great technical know-how, and proven expertise in designing for the web.

Absolute Requirements (no exceptions):

  • Minimum 3 years experience designing web-based products as a key member of a design team.
  • True leader, charismatic, communicator
  • Able to successfully refine complex tasks and requirements to create easy to use and stunningly beautiful user interfaces.
  • Able to work boldly with a strong development team, presenting ideas/designs effectively.
  • Must be self-motivated, able to manage competing priorities, and meet critical project deadlines.
  • Effective problem solver, able to come up with creative solutions and entertain alternative solutions.
  • Fluent in HTML and CSS with full knowledge of associated capabilities/ limitations.
  • Use Adobe Photoshop/Fireworks in your sleep
