IT Support/Help Desk

An award-winning architecture and design firm is currently hiring a customer service-oriented, energetic individual to provide customer and help-desk (Tier I and some Tier 2) support, help manage IT client (user) relations, and execute IT project assignments as directed by the head of IT.There will be daily interaction with corporate staff, vendors and consultants. This is an excellent position for anyone that is looking to gain corporate experience in a fun and fast-paced environment.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Change weekly backup tapes and prepare them for offsite pickup
  • Unpack new computers and prepare new ghost images
  • Ghost new computers and configure for end users
  • Install new software and upgrades
  • Manage all IT assets in the asset management system
  • Manage and maintain a clean IT stockroom and server room
  • Assist with staff moves and relocation of computer equipment
  • Configure, install and troubleshoot personal computers, notebooks, PDAs, BlackBerries, printers and scanners in a MS Windows and Apple environment
  • Set up conference rooms setups for meetings with laptops, projectors, etc
  • Help run new employee orientations and end user training
  • Do other IT assignments as needed

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Experience with hardware maintenance (Apple and PC) and repairs
  • Experience with and general knowledge of desktop applications (e.g. MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and other standard software
  • Experience working in mid- to large-scale corporate environment.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Active Directory environment
  • Experience supporting personal computer users in a networked environment (2+ years)
  • Ability to work with little supervision and report accordingly
  • Proficiency in all aspects of desktop PC/Apple and desktop applications troubleshooting
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, and manage several projects at the same time and assess priorities

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office environment
  • Physically demanding job, pushing/pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds) as needed to move computers and monitors, etc.
  • Hours for this position are typically 9:30AM-6:30PM during the week with some weekends (if necessary)
  • Extremely responsive and able to provide support outside of normal business hours and on weekends (as needed)
