MarketTools Inc. (www.markettools.com), a privately held technology company in San Francisco, California, is seeking an energetic, creative, and passionate individual to join our User Experience Design group as a Lead User Experience Designer.
The Lead User Experience Designer will be involved in all aspects of the UX design for our industry-leading SaaS-based product portfolio. As a key member of the team, you will have a significant, highly visible impact on our products. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, has excellent tactical execution skills and significant experience in human-centered design for web-based products.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product team to brainstorm and advise on product direction
- Apply user-centered design practices to create enjoyable and satisfying user experiences
- Design interactions, site flows and wireframes
- Create visual user interface designs
- Create paper/interactive prototypes for user research
- Develop and maintain user experience design best practices and guidelines
Requirements
- BS/BA or MS/MFA degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or equivalent work experience
- A compelling portfolio
- At least 4 years of experience in the interaction design of Web applications
- Solid understanding of UCD principles and interaction design skills
- Well versed in the latest design techniques and styles
- Passion for simplicity and consistency in design
- Enjoy working collaboratively with other designers and team members; receptive to feedback and direction from others
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Mastery of design tools such as Fireworks, Photoshop, or Illustrator
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
