Healthiest You is seeking to fill a position for a passionate User Interaction Designer / Visual Designer / Production Designer to help define the first-of-its-kind highly personalized health platform based on the latest in neuroscience research. This position will be focused primarily on web and mobile media, though a great candidate would also have working knowledge in print media. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded designer to join an exciting startup that has tremendous content assets and to influence key design issues from the very beginning.

Responsibilities

-- Brainstorm concepts with the product team and develop original user-centered design concepts; iterate quickly through design options, prototyping, testing and validation
-- Execute designs based on established style guides (and maintain style guides) and lead in design presentations
-- Develop design specs including page flows, wireframes, use cases, user flows, and pixel-perfect comps for production
-- Express concepts in both online and print media in an effective manner
-- Push the boundaries of what's possible to create better experiences for our users
-- Establish a framework for measuring and monitoring the quality of user experience

 

Skills

-- Ability to work in rapidly changing, pre-Series A company. Flexible and willing to do what it takes to achieve important milestones.
-- Minimum of 5+ years experience designing outstanding web-based products for a consumer-oriented website as a key member of a design team
-- Portfolio of work demonstrating excellent interaction and visual design for the web
-- Attention to detail in visual arrangement, color, typography and flow
-- Ability to work at the speed of a startup, but with attention to detail producing results within defined scope on time
-- Demonstrated mastery of Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop (Adobe suite) to create mockups and documents
-- Solid understanding of design pitfalls, especially with regard to web standards and browser compatibility issues. Mobile application design experience a plus.
-- Ability to learn and apply new concepts and techniques
-- Previous experience designing for complex web applications with video content, personalization and
data visualization
-- Familiarity with designing for globalization and localization
-- Expertise in hand-coding HTML/CSS to create semantic, standards compliant versions of designs
-- Bonus: working/expert knowledge of Flash applications
-- Great attitude and strong work ethic
-- Ability to communicate design strategies effectively
-- BA/BS or above in Graphic Design, Human Factors, Information Design.  Strong technical background a plus
