Design & Marketing Project Manager

The role of the Design & Marketing Project Manager is to coordinate and manage marketing and design projects across Tuft & Needle direct and wholesale channels. Overall, the Project Manager will be responsible for kicking off and managing projects to ensure all team members have what they need in order to work efficiently. Additionally, the Project Manager will coordinate across functions to ensure projects meet business requirements and are completed on target. 

Essential Functions

  • Align with creative team leadership on high level priorities
  • Work with creative team leadership to manage resource allocation and availability to ensure peak efficiency across digital team
  • Design and evolve processes for all aspects of project delivery with a focus on maximizing quality, flexibility, collaboration, transparency, and speed
  • Document incoming project requests and prioritize appropriately
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure business needs and directives are being supported by digital team
  • Establish individual project plans and related goals which are measured in quantifiable metrics
  • Ensure adherence to deadlines
  • Run discovery and kick-off meetings for project inception and requirement gathering
  • Coordinate and run stand-ups and check in meetings with project/stakeholder teams
  • Create user stories properly communicating required work with clear and concise acceptance criteria
  • Manage and prioritize project backlogs to ensure stories do not go stale, acceptance criteria maintains accuracy, and stories in scope are still high value and relevant to the business
  • Understand team members strengths and growth areas, putting them in positions to capitalize on their strengths and invest in their growth areas
  • Meet regularly with all team members across projects to gauge potential for project burn-out
  • Work with team to determine the types of work/challenges a given person is interested in so that they can be presented opportunities to work on projects of that nature
  • Mitigate friction and establish means for communication on cross functional projects


  • Minimum 3+ years in a project management role, interaction with a design or marketing team preferred
  • Experience working with both design and marketing teams and familiarity with their processes, management tools and needs
  • Strong passion for building a great user experience and impactful marketing campaigns
  • Strong familiarity with agile software development and methodologies
  • Experience with all facets of project management from discovery and kick-off, to scope management and delivery
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail; able to work autonomously and manage time effectively
  • Deep knowledge of the SDLC
  • Superior tactical and execution skills with a natural proclivity to take the initiative to drive and execute multiple concurrent activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possess a nuanced sense of when to strongly advocate for a decision and when to seek compromise
