Brand Manager

We are currently searching for a Brand Manager for our paper goods brand (Cakewalk).  This role collaborates with the Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Sales, and Marketing teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starting highly organized problem solver with a sharp eye for quality and experience sourcing product overseas.  This is a fast paced position and you must possess the ability to “go with the flow” as your day to day is constantly changing. This is a full-time position in a dynamic, creative environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • With support from the Business Alignment Head, responsible for growing the revenue and gross margin for Cakewalk
  • With support from the Business Alignment Analyst, responsible for the full lifecycle of products within the brand (new development, modification/maintenance and sell through, end of life)
  • Responsible for the competitive positioning of brand, including pricing and product assortment
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize new product road maps
  • Oversee execution of product roadmaps, achieving quality, time, and price point objectives
  • Create and implement effective merchandising programs and oversee the implementation of merchandising vehicles
  • Engage in key vendor negotiation with ongoing support form the Director of Fulfillment
  • Engage with the graphic design team to oversee timely execution of product and packaging design
  • Supported by the Business Alignment Head, work with the supply chain team to work within an established inventory budget for the brands
  • Engage with the marketing team to coordinate launches of products and product lines, secure product features in internal and external media, and collaborate on other promotional plans as appropriate
  • Work with the Business Alignment Analyst to create and implement pricing strategies
  • Work directly with the sales team to collaborate on product road maps with large customers and support important sales pitches
  • Promote brand internally within the company
  • Engage with the marketing team to work through major changes of the look and feel of the brand
  • Together with the Head of Business Alignment, work with the finance team to set inventory budgets for the assigned brand


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Consistently uses communications skills to influence outcomes.
  • Ability to influence others without authority to get things done in a timely fashion
  • Working knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, assortment planning and inventory management

Desired Experience:

  • Progressive experience in product or brand management
  • Experience managing direct reports
  • Experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation
