CBO’s Office of Communications seeks a second front-end web developer to serve as a systems administrator for CBO’s public website and as a driver of innovative digital solutions.

The Office of Communications supports CBO’s mission by developing, executing, and managing successful digital strategies. The web developer will help ensure seamless day-to-day operations for a highly visible website and will develop improvements to CBO’s digital presence. This is a midlevel position requiring ample experience with Drupal and the ability to shift seamlessly between producing high-quality object-oriented code, configuring and extending content management software, maintaining Drupal code and contributed modules, designing user interfaces, and effectively integrating interactive media projects into CBO’s website in a macOS environment. The role’s responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining all technical aspects of CBO’s website.
  • Monitoring and applying necessary patches to existing codebases and modules and ensuring consistency between dependencies.
  • Monitoring, diagnosing, and correcting problems in existing applications, including internal and third-party integrations.
  • Modifying existing codebases; evaluating, installing, and configuring new Drupal modules; and creating custom modules or applications.
  • Serving as a technical expert for digital projects by implementing and enhancing features and functionality that are compatible with CBO’s website and hosting platform.
  • Creating prototypes and demonstrations of new functionality, in line with CBO’s mobile-first approach, that makes the agency’s work more accessible and interactive while providing the best user experience.
  • Extending themes, user interfaces, information taxonomy, and architecture to meet stakeholders’ objectives.
  • Monitoring CBO’s cloud-hosted servers; implementing and enhancing developer workflows; and conducting regular reviews to ensure that CBO is receiving the maximum benefit from its external infrastructure.
  • Helping manage relationships with external contractors and serving as a day-to-day point of contact.

  • Have extensive experience using Drupal development tools such as Lando, Drush, and Composer in a macOS environment.
  • Have experience with front-end development, which includes proficiency in JavaScript-jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3, as well as experience using a CSS preprocessor, such as Sass.
  • Be skilled working with MySQL databases and PC data formats, including CSV, JSON, and XML.
